Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra
The ninth edition in the RCO Live Horizon series contains four world premieres. Joey Roukens “Boundless and Richard Rijnvos” Amérique du Nord were commissioned works for concerts on the occasion of Leonard Bernstein’s 100th birthday. Roukens music reflects Bernstein’s boundless character and Rijnvos takes us on a Bernsteinian road trip through the United States. In Peter Eötvös ’Multiversum, various orchestra groups, organ and Hammond organ act as dancers in a cosmic ballet of parallel universes. And apart from an important addition to the very small repertoire for orchestra and piccolo solo, Erkki-Sven Tüürs Solastalgia is above all a passionate call for care for our environment.

From the press
About Amérique du Nord: “… brilliantly orchestrated kaleidoscopic music …”
Het Parool

“[Boundless] was beautiful. Roukens’ Boundless was as always rhythmic, but also disruptive and mysterious”
Volkskrant

About Solastalgia: “The piccolo brought the greatest wealth during this concert evening”
Faithful

“” Multiverse “from Eötvös is of unprecedented beauty”
